Hardcover. Cloth-bound, 13.5 inches tall, recording in pencil the daily menus for a restaurant in Bern. In French, several hundred pages, menus from September 1957 through October 1958. Very good, light wear, the handwriting is hard to read for us. We don't know the name of the restaurant, but there.....

Fair condition with stains and soil to some pages, some pages loose, others slightly crumpled, various paginations, probably 250-300 pages of material on all aspects of operating the tank.....

State College: 1982. 15 x 11.5 inches, newspaper stock, very good, tanning and light wear, gentle horizontal fold, about 25 pp, illustrated, guide to places to stay, dine, etc., program notes and schedule, related articles on movies, science fiction, etc. Uncommon.
Pittsburgh: 1984. Wraps. 11 x 8.5 inches, stapled sheets, good with some dampstaining and rippling to bottom 2" throughout. About 25 leaves, mainly advertisements for Homewood businesses. Homewood is a historica Black neighborhood in Pittsburgh's East End and is the setting for several of John Edgar Wideman's books.

Rajasthan (?). 18 x 18 inches, hand-painted on silk, very good with some folds that can probably be pressed out, light fraying along edges, minor soil. We are not at all schooled in Mughal art, so could be way off, but it looks late 19th century to us.
2 cabinet photos (both measure, including the mount boards, 6.5 x 4.25 inches), very good, light wear, one inscribed on the back by Carpenter, the other with the note "taken in summer of 1898." Information on Carpenter that follows taken from an obituary from a Boston newspaper of April 2.....
Veruy good condition, one postmarked 1907 with message on verso, the cowboy one with "From Tillie" in glitter, also featuring a metallic buffalo; the cowgirl's hat, shirt and skirt are silk.

Postmarked 1908, 2 different views of a burning tank, presumably filled with oil, both addressed from Washington, PA to a resident of that town to a William Forgie who was off on a cruise. A bit of research indicates the fire occurred on June 23, 1908 in Washington PA.
