Wheeling & elsewhere: 1862-1865. 16 muster rolls for Union army volunteer regiments in West Virginia (which was not a state until June 20, 1863) & 4 muster-out rolls for a total of 20 items; these were called Virginia regiments for the duration of the Civil War. For various dates ranging.....
On parchment on old English chancery hand, measures 17.25 x 9 inches (44 x 23 cm), folds, a handful of small holds, otherwise very good and readable (with some effort). Dating from 1612, the time of James I, it appears to be a deed transferring a "close" called "Cone Close".....
On parchment, 24.5 x 16 inches, very good, usual folds, minor wear. Large old indenture of land transfer for property in Widford, but we are having a hard time reading the names of the participating parties.
17 postcards celebrating Thanksgiving, with postmarks from 1906-1916. Generally very good.
All postcard sized, 5 x 3.5 inches, on Agfa film, all very good, only one identified on rear: "S/ Sgt McMahon at S-4 Warehouse Service Company, 115th Reg. 29th." Seems to be pictures of a mass grave, probably in northern France, probably of French and Belgians. The 115th Regiment of.....
18 postcards (one might be a trade card), with postmarks ranging from 1905 to 1913, some without postmarks. We have Washington Monument in Allegheny, Pittsburg by Night, Sixth Ave. Looking East, Sixth Street and Penn under Four Feet of Water, 2 real photo postcards of three men, one of them.....

London: Theatre Royal, 1816. 12 x 7 inches, very good, one small hole to the right of "Guy Mannering" and light blue pencil underlining to "Mr. Abbott," a bit poorly inked at the bottom, paper a little grayed and foxed. A pleasing theatrical advertisement. Deaccession stamp from NYPL on verso.....
13 x 8 inches, one sheet, good with some dampstaining tidemarks, light ink stains to the blank verso as well. Terms of an agreement from 1822 by which Benijah Green sells to R. Kelly for $377.37 a slave named Abraham. Green (1765-1840) was born in Virginia, lived for a time.....
Vellum, 28 x 15 inches, very good, usual folds, for a lot of land described as being on 7th and Delaware near Poplar Lane (northern Philadelphia we think), between John and Ann Elkinton and William S. Ward. Elkinton was a bit of a somebody in Philadelphia: He attended Pennsylvania University.....
Hardcover. 12 x 8, leather backed buff boards, good with some rubbing, soil and wear to boards, probably 50 pp, not filled in, tabbed A-Z, signed by a James Rudd of Louisville, KY on the front cover and again on the flyleaf, dated (we think) 1837. The Rudd family papers.....
Philadelphia: John C. Clark, 1849. Paperback. Recent plain dark blue wraps, original lighter blue rear wrap still present. 21 pp. plus a few blanks at end. The lots in question were probably in the South Philadelphia neighborhood of Passyunk or just south, say around E. Passyunk Ave. & Morris. OCLC.....
With embossed gilt borders very similar to Thomas Nelson penny cards of the 1850s-60s, the 8 smaller cards measure 3.75 x 2 inches, the three larger cards measure 6 x 4 inches. All are good with some abrasions to versos from having been in an album. On glossy paper, or.....
Hardcover. 11 x 9 inches, decorated leather, binding somewhat worn with recent cloth over spine and to inner hinges. With 10 cabinet photos and 30 CDVs (smaller photos). Not many identified by name -- the name "Bolf" appears on some, but the great majority are from photo studios in LaPorte.....
Truly fine probably uncirculated condition, crisp, no creases, no wear, no corner bends, nothing! Long thin key in red treasury seal.
Mounted on old card stock, fair with wear and yellowing, people identified in a later hand on rear: Jane Crans Thomas in chair on porch, the girl on the porch was adopted, a sie yaerd Billy Crans, some of William J. Eakin (1836-1919), and E. Jennie Eakin Crans (2nd wife).....

With 27 CDVs, none of them identified by name, but photo studios are London (primarily the Hellis studio), Bayswater, Croydon, Folkestone, Harrogate, Eastbourne.....
Hardcover. 16 x 7 inches, velvet pillowed covers, good but not very good condition, some wear and tattiness. With 49 cabinet photos (5 x 3 images), with about half of them from Jamestown NY studios, another 10 or so from Rochester studios, perhaps 8 from Los Angeles, and the rest.....
Receipt measures 9 x 6.25 inches, with the final destination Austin Texas in 1881 for the passage in steerage of Caroline Bruckner of Reuth in Saxony, including passage in one of the North German Lloyd steamers to NY and train fare from NY to Austin. Very good.
