Scalloped vellum land indenture, particularly nice condition, with wax seal and affixed embossed blue paper tag, measures approximately 26 x 21 inches. The land sold by Henry Brydges (described by George II as "hot headed, passionate, half-witted coxcomb") is in rural Somerset County, somewhat west of Bath. Signed by Chapman and by a register of deeds, but not by the Duke. Item #H8675
