Inscribed by the author to his friend Andre Cresson on the half-title of the first volume. 1913-46, various editions: Volume 1 is a second edition and Volume 2 is a third edition, the other 4 volumes are Firsts. Hardcover 4tos., uniformly bound in later 1/2 leather with marbled boards, raised bands, gilt titles, teg. Very Good overall. Spines sunned; flecking to leather spine; shallow loss and wear to the crowns of the spine; boards worn at corners. Binding are strong and intact. Pages age-toned; unmarked contents; small puncture to the first 10 pages of the second volume. Cresson is best known for his introductions to the University of France Press' philosophers series. He taught at the LLG and counted Breton and Levi-Strauss among his students. Very Good. Item #0081669
