A Search of Truth in the Science of the Human Mind, Part First

Philadelphia: S. Potter and Co., 1822. First edition. Hardcover. 1822, First Edition. Title page notes 'Part First' but this was the only one ever published. Hardcover, 8vo., contemporary full calf, repaired with later leather strips over the outer hinges for reinforcement. Spine partially rebacked with newer leather. viii, [9]-561 pp. Very Good. Fresh, bright, clean contents. Original half-title present. Boards worn at the corners. Repair to the outer hinges and spine looks a bit amateurish, but the boards and binding are both quite secure. Beasley was an Episcopalian reverend who later served as provost at the University of Pennsylvania. A fairly uncommon title, includes his analysis of Hume, Locke, Bacon, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, and others. Very Good. Item #0086586
