First Edition, unknown issue as this copy was rebound without the ads. 225 pp. Hardcover, rebound by an unknown binder in later beautiful two-tone morocco with raised bands, gilt border, floral motif at corners, aeg, leather dentelles and over the inner hinges. Engraved title page present. Fine, now housed in handsome leather dust jacket with handmade marbled paper panel, lined in deerskin. Endpapers with heay tan offsetting from the jacket flaps. Jacket slightly mellowed along spine. A beautiful copy of this classic. BAL 12136 notes three publisher bindings in leather -- this rebinding seems to borrow from the C binding which has 'a small rosette at each corner.'. Fine / Near Fine. Item #0086980
