Books ex-library with only minor markings that include plates and stamps, all but rear board of first volume detached but present, showing minor sun to spines and wear to corners and spine ends, texts clean and unmarked. No DJs, but in protective mylar wraps. Cardano (1501-1576) was an Italian Renaissance astronomer, mathematician, astrologer, philosopher, and gambler--the last of which forced him to formulate some elementary rules of probability that made him one of the founders of that field.
