A Cognitive Theory of Consciousness

Cambridge University Press, 1993. Paperback. 1993 printing. 8vo, trade paperback, 424 pp., very good, light foxing to foredges. FRANCIS CRICK's copy with his namestamp and also quite a number of pencil marks and underlined phrases and an occasional word or two, with his namestamp, and with a letter to him addressed from the author, saying that this book is being sent, which was cited in Crick's 'A Cognitive Theory of Consciousness' and goes on to say "The theory has close conceptural connections with your work. The Global Workspace architecture overlaps quite clearly with your 'searchlight' paper..." A nice association copy between two major theorists working on consciousness. Francis Crick (1916-2004) was a Nobel Prize winning molecular biologist credited with discovering the helical structure of DNA along with James Watson. In his later career at the Jonas Salk Institute in La Jolla, CA, he did research on the neurobiology of human consciousness and brain structure. Very Good. Item #C000017667
