Goliath and David, Poems (Association copy), 1st printing, 1916
London: Privately Printed at the Chiswick Press, (1916). First printing. Paperback. First edition of author's second book, published in 1916 in very small number. 8vo, plain red wraps, 20pp, about very good copy with some tiredness to the edges, faint soil, most minor paper loss at spine ends, with bookplate of Percy Withers (1867-1945) to verso of front wrap. Minor association copy: both Withers and Graves were alumni of Somerville College (Oxford), and while Withers made his living as a medic and GP, he had literary ambitions and was friendly with A. E. Housman, Yeats, Edmund Blunden, Max Beerbohm, William Rothenstein, John and Paul Nash, and Alice Meynell, and thus had plenty of chance to interact with Graves, but it is not clear that they figured strongly in each other's lives. Very Good. Item #C000027352
