Florence / Firenze: Apud Iuntas, 1565. Hardcover. 8vo (6.25 inches, 155mm tall), old vellum, probably late 17th century, leather spine label, very good, boards a little sprung, vellum darkened and yellowed with some residue from an old paper label of some sort pasted to front cover, contents VG, with old small marginal notations in a very old hand throughout the first part of the text, which prints Andria, Heautontimorumenos, Hecyra, Eunuchus, Phormio, Adelfi. (24) 318 (2) 251 (2) pp, including errata and tailpiece after the first part, and colophon and tailpiece after the second part. The tailpiece woodcut is the same as the one featured on the title pages of both volumes, two putti at the base of a lily. The second volume is commentary and emendations by Faerno (1510-1561), who was an excellent classicist from Cremona known for his critical editions of classical authors, most well known for his edition of Aesop. Worth noting is the inclusion of Faerno's essay "De Versibus Comicus" pp. 223-231. Printed by the famous Giunti printers of Florence. Very Good. Item #H10635
