First printing. 4 booklets, each a little over 10 inches tall, the first a general introduction, plus a lecture "Toward Civic Art" by Kepes, who organized the exhibit, plus "The Artists" ca. 25 pp, illustrated, and "Exhibition Contents," a catalog of the pieces in the show. There is also a 4 pp. news release from the Smithsonian's Office of Public Afairs, and a one-sheet program that shows the extent of this show: lectures, screenings, poetry readings (including Anne Sexton, Nicanor Parra, Vasko Popa, Yehuda Amichai and others), performances, including a recreation of an Oldenburg happening, a launching of flying helium sculptures by Piene and more. Included are duplicate copies of some of the booklets. Rare in commerce. Fine. Item #H12203
