Boston, London & Leipzig: Quaritch, &c. 1902-1921. Hardcover. Large folio, half leather, marbled boards, good copy at best, the spine and some of the corners covered in recent black cloth, rubbing and wear to boards, including crumbling and loss to top edge of front board, ex-library marks (bookplates, a few stamps), text mainly clean and very good, 315 pp, many plates and illustrations. Title page dated 1902, but epilogue dated 1921. Assos, known today as the village of Behramkale in Ayvac k district in the northwestern province of Canakkale (Turkey), was one of the most important port cities in the Age of Antiquity. It is one of the few ancient cities in the world where excavations started in the 1800s - and have continued without interruption since 1981. The repairs and restorations to this book are utilitarian, and the book can be read and explored with ease, but it is not in the best of condition. Non-domestic shipping will be extremely expensive, be forewarned. Good. Item #H12208

Price: $250.00
