The Chautauquan, March 1887
Meadville, PA: T. L. Flood Publishing Company, 1887. Quarto (11.6 inches tall), decorated tan wraps, very good with light soil and wear. General Logan's wife on women in the departments at Washington, Tarbell's second major piece for the journal, "Women as Inventors" -- a response to an earlier article in the journal by Mary Lowe Dickinson claiming there were only 300 women patent-holders. Tarbell's investigations proved there were well over 2,000 and that women had just as much a right and worthiness to invent as men. Very Good. Item #H12229
