The Paroxide Blonde
Columbia, SC: The Matthew J. and Arlyn Bruccoli Collection, 2007. First printing. Paperback. Wraps, 11 inches tall, 12 pp, about fine, limited to 100 copies, this one unnumbered. Although the title page of the facsimile credits F. Scott Fitzgerald, the lighthearted poem was really written by his daughter, Scottie. It was submitted to Esquire in 1935, but Gingrich rejected it. Later the manuscript was sold to Ben Abramson, and then again to Bruccoli much later on. F. Scott Fitzgerald may have had a hand in typing it up or editing it, and he signed each page, with a Latin phrase attesting to the authorship by his daughter. A rare secondary piece of F. Scott Fitzgerald memorabilia, acquired directly from Arlyn Bruccoli and probably among a number of copies they reserved to give to friends, beyond the 100 numbered copies. Near Fine. Item #H12965
