Original sketchbook of a young girl including many in the Gibson Girl mode, plus many other drawings and studies

Hardcover. Undated, but probably ca. 1897-1902; we found record of a Helen V. Connors, 1888-1973, born in Boston, lived in Bedford, Newton and Needham, and that seems to fit the time period and fashion style. 10.25 inches tall, cloth backed marbled boards with Connors' name on cover and first page, and 65 sides of the paper within filled with drawings, studies, sketches, etc., almost all in pencil (3 in pen), documenting fashionable young women with a distinctly Gibson Girl look, as well as other studies of faces, eyes, people, scenes, surroundings, etc. Very talented work! General modest wear to binding, light age toning. Good. Item #H13089
