1914 The Croaker: yearbook of Cotner University, Bethany, Nebraska

Hardcover. Oblong quarto (11 x 8), leather backed cloth boards, very good, some wear and rubbing to binding, contents very good. 167 pp, many ads, many photos, and typical contents of a yearbook of the era: portraits of faculty, student bodies, extra-curricular organizations, athletics including football, plus jokes, cartoons, quotes and other texts. Cotner was founded in 1889 by the Nebraska Christian Missionary Alliance and was strongly committed to a religious education but was also one of the few places to offer degrees in medicine and dentistry; it was also co-ed. The school became Nebraska Christian University and then was slowly phased out or incorporated into the University of Nebraska. Cotner was at first a suburb of Lincoln but over time was annexed into Lincoln. A rare yearbook. Very Good. Item #H13175
