Provincetown Tideways, Vol. 2 no. 1

Provincetown, MA: Provincetown Publishers, 1948. 8.25 inches tall, stapled textured wraps, 76 pp, very good with light soil visible to tops of inner covers. Most people attribute the unsigned contents to Harry Kemp, the publisher. Includes Kemp's "Poet's Pilgrimate, Part 3," and the rest of the volume is taken up with "Aurain of the Dunes, a Religious Romance Containing the First Book of Deiom." This mix of prose and poetry, clearly influenced by theosophy, Rudolf Steiner, Christian spiritualism and Rosicrucianism, is a far cry from Kemp's hobo days and Greenwich Village bohemian period. Kemp was at the time living in a shack among the dunes of Provincetown, and was also publishing very Christian oriented material. Rare. Very Good. Item #H13539
