Ca. 1860 Unrecorded broadside class satirical poem, "An Epic" - Jefferson College, Washington, PA
Measures 12 x 9.25, good with some foxing and folds. Unrecorded: no copies found in any institution. Almost certainly from Jefferson College, ca. 1860, later Washington & Jefferson, the three column poem lambastes and mocks fellow graduating classmates either by name or nickname: Traitor Zack, Ten Mile Yelper, Bombastic Freeman, Carbonic Frank, Nabob Ben, Legs Duncan. The fraternity Phi Gamma Delta is mentioned in passing, along with references to Pleasant Hill. Carbonic Frank resided at "Liz" -- perhaps these give clues as to the locale, but we feel safe in thinking this is an artifact from W&J. Good. Item #H14227
Price: $200.00
