The School Bulletin, May 1903

Pittsburgh: Allegheny Preparatory School, 1903. 10.5 x 8 inches, wraps, good with some soil, tanning and repaired short tears to rear cover and to last page, with "Ruth Thoburn May 1903" pencilled on front cover: she has contributed an account of Sir Roger de Coverley's trip to America (Sir Roger is a fictional character created by Joseph Addison); and her sister Jean Thoburn contributed an account of Robert Louis Stevenson. The school opened in 1898 on what is now Pittsburgh's North Side, but by 1911 was losing money due to competition and the strictures of its premises; space allowed for each grade to be only about 15 students -- by 1917 it was forced to close. Good. Item #H15024

Price: $35.00
