Campbell (1840–1912) was a photographer, entrepreneur and business owner from England who came to the U.S. in 1866, with Napoleon Sarony, to run Sarony & Co. He then started Alfred S. Campbell Art Company in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. He produced a wide array of prints in the 1870 to 1910 era. In 1892 The Campbell Art Co. employed over 300 people as salesman, photographers, authors and poets to create their line of postcards, stereo views, calendars and fine art prints to be distributed all over the country including England. Campbell's patented "Art-Relievo"; platinum photographic prints were 3-dimensional photographic reproductions in 'absolute relief' (embossed) that he sold in the late 1890's through the early 1900's (c1896-c1904). Campbell reproduced various master works, Native American Indian portraits/scenes, religious/inspirational scenes, genre scenes, boudoir images etc. Very Good. Item #H15367
