Chicago: 1953. Hardcover. Large quarto, gilt stamped cloth with testimonial, dinner menu, 32 original photos, 30 of which are 6.25 x 4.5 inches, mounted two per page, with four executives/friends featured and their autographs; the first such photo shows Walsh receiving his copy at the dinner. Walsh (1878 --?) entered the steel business as a teenaged clerk for Illinois Steel and quickly rose through the ranks, till in 1922 he was hired by Inland Steel to be Superintendent of their Indiana Harbor Works, culminating in a heroic effort during WWII to provide the army with steel, running a number of hot strip and blooming mills. He retired in 1946. 150 guests attended and we assume they all got copies of this book. Very Good. Item #H15583
