NP: 1954. 12 x 9, plain pinkish-orange wraps with title typed and "September 1954" at top, Anna Appel in pencil on cover, carbon typescript within, about 100 sheets, good with some wear, and passages involving Mrs. Cohen heavily marked in pen, pencil and colored conte pencil. Clearly used by Appel for her speaking part in a new version for the revival of1954 (she was the original Mrs. Cohen for the first radio production in 1942-44). The beloved play that was hugely successful on Broadway in the early 1920s, dramatizes in a piquant way the difficulties confronting an Irish Catholic girl and her Jewish beau. Abie's Irish Rose was revived on Broadway in 1937 and again in an updated version in 1954, and Appel reprised her role in that Broadway production in November-December 1954. Good. Item #H15754
