The Indians of the Terraced Houses -- inscribed to western author Idah Meacham Strobridge in 1914

New York: Putnam's, 1912. First printing. Hardcover. 8vo, dark green cloth gilt, very good, light wear. Inscribed in Pasadena in 1914 to author Idah Meacham Strobridge, herself an author of books on the life, culture and Native Americans of western America, particularly Nevada where she lived: she authored a trio of books on the Great Basin (which covers parts of Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming and California), which were all a mix of folktales, fiction and nature writing: In Miners' Mirage-Land (1904), The Loom of the Desert (1907) and The Land of Purple Shadows (1909). Saunders' work is more centered on the Navajo reservation that stretched along northern Arizona and New Mexico right at the border of Utah and Colorado. Very Good. Item #H16303
