New York: British Library of Information, 1940-1942. All 111 issues are present. First published in late August 1940, in stapled mimeo'd sheets, first 5 pp, then 8 pp. and finally 16 pp. each, the Bulletins from Britain were a curated compilation of the cables and news sent privately to British officials around the world that the editors thought fit to be shared with the public. "This service is intended to give them that intimate knowledge of the activities of Britain's fighting forces, of the magnitude of the Empire's effort, of the impact of the war upon the daily lives of the people which is available to their colleagues at home." -- from the introductory text to the first issue. The British Library of Information also published speeches, pamphlets, circulars and other papers. Many of these are accompanied by supplements and other inserted speeches and documents. Well represented, it would appear, in libraries, but very rare in commerce. Light occasional soil, spottiness and wear from basement storage. Also includes two copies of "Cables from Britain, Week ending July 29, 1940" & "Week ending August 6, 1940" 5 pp. aggregates of cables which seems to be a prototype for Bulletins from Britain, and which are very rare: only 1 copy located by OCLC at University of Wisconsin, and "Food for Europe" a 3 pp. item reproduced from the London Economist of August 17, 1940, issued by BLI, which OCLC locates only 2 examples of: at Cal State Sacramento and at Wooster. Very Good. Item #H16482
