New York: Amalgamated Lithographers of America, 1952. 6 small format posters from the Tuberculosis League of Pittsburgh, the Native American ones with artwork by Constance Abel. 1) Eat -- for health simple foods are best. 13.5 x 10.5 inches, light soil, a couple tiny tape marks to verso. 2) For Strength and Beauty Exercise in fresh air. 13.5 x 10.5 inches. Band of offsetting or tanning along upper left side, a few faint tape marks on verso. Good. 3) Sleep Builds Health. 13.5 x 10.5 inches. Light wear to lower right corner, a couple tape marks to verso. 4) Water for Health. 13.5 x 10.5 inches. Some abrasions to verso, showing through slightly on front side (in the middle of the waterfall). Fair only. 5) We Cover Coughs and Sneezes. 15 x 11 inches. Verso has 'Suggestions to the Teacher' with advice on how to prevent tuberculosis geared for primary grade kids. Very good. 6) Dress for the Weather. 15 x 11 inches. Also with 'Suggestions to the Teacher' on rear. VG. The last two posters have codes indicating publication in 1952. We also noted, when looking online, that the Constance Abel ones were used for the tuberculosis prevention associations in various cities. The last two, not by Abel, have codes at the bottom indicating publication in 1952, so that's what we estimate for the Abel ones, too. Very Good. Item #H1666
