6 Poems by Delmore Schwartz (livre d'artiste, 1953, one of 20 copies)

Hardcover. 16 x 3 inches, stiff boards with plastic rings binding, good plus to very good, light wear to boards, some soil and smudging, inscribed "For Wolf" and signed by the illustrator inside front cover, with short preface signed P. K. and six poems by Schwartz, each with accompanying print in colors, numbered in pencil beneath (seems to be limited to 20 copies, although one print is limited to 19 copies). OCLC locates a single copy in libraries at Pierpont Morgan as part of the Carter Burden collection. We could not find much about John Steele, but he apparently was at least a graduate from the college at LSU and possibly stayed around for graduate school or teaching work. The prints, possibly silk screens, but also perhaps done with collage like shapes or linocuts, are sometimes abstract and sometimes slightly figural. Good. Item #H18898
