Mary Blane - rare American song sheet

NP: NP, Ca. 1848-50. 9 x 6.25, good with some wear, residue from old clippings and wax, slight loss to upper left corner, light tanning and foxing. This is the version that was first published as sheet music, composer identified as William Bennett, Keith's Music House, Boston, 1846. Much more widely known in its minstrel version. Our version has Mary Blane "living alone in Switzerland." The "Ethiopic version" features a "little yaller girl" in Virginia and it is that version that one can find in Wolf's "American Song Sheets" and in the LOC America Singing collection, but our version is distinctly rare.
