Carrier Dove's Return. DOVE. "Fly back o'er the Billowy main, Sweet Dove..."

Lowell, MA: I. H. Welton, (1849). 8.75 x 7 inches, good, still lightly mounted, with red wax, to a portion of a ledger page from 1807, but OCLC dates this 1849. With some tanning, small brown stains, light wear and soil. Variant versions of this, as "The Carrier Dove," appear in Wolf's "American Song Sheets" and the LOC America Singing collection, but not this version or imprint. OCLC does locate original copies at AAS and at Brown, as well as 9 copies identified as digitized or computer/internet files, but given how unreliable OCLC can be, some of those might be real. In any case, very rare. Good. Item #H19197
