Pittsburgh: The Victory Press, 1970. First printing. Paperback. 11 x 9 inches, plastic comb binding, stiff yellow paper covers, very good, light wear and soil, probably about 350 pp., folding broadside at rear, illustrated. An amazing handbook, compilation, guide and assemblage, covering everything from the philosophy of civil disobediance to advice by seasoned activists; the introduction was authored by Robert Colodny, who fought with the Lincoln Brigade against Franco during the Spanish Civil War and who was hauled before HUAC during the McCarthy Era (and told them to go to hell, with the backing of the University of Pittsburgh), thus an activist with four decades of experience and wisdom. The book compiles poems, articles, reportage, sociology, letters from soldiers and from protestors, and much on the Pittsburgh response to Vietnam, sponsored by an anti-war protest group called Pittsburgh Resistance that had headquarters in Oakland on the Boulevard of the Allies. RARE, OCLC locates 5 copies: NYU, Yale, Swarthmore, Pitt, and Heinz History Center of Pittsburgh. Very Good. Item #H19677

Price: $350.00
