Hardcover. 8vo, contemporary half green leather and marbled boards, very good, light wear, recent paper spine label, with tipped in signature of Daniel O'Connell on front pastedown on a portion of a document or letter the size of a bank check. Also laid in are 9 clipped signatures of early 19th century English or Irish peerage or landed gentry with Irish connections: Edward Boscawen the Earl of Falmouth (vehemently opposed to Catholic emancipation), Charles Vereker Viscount Gort (Constable of Limerick), Hayes St. Leger Viscount Doneraile (Gov. in County Cork), Robert Edward King Viscount Lorton (held several high positions at Roscommon), Dupre Alexander Earl of Caledon and Viscount Alexander (Lord Lt. of Tyrone), John Crichton-Stuart, 2nd Marquess of Bute (encouraged the Irish poor to leave the mainland and go back to Ireland), Robert Fowler (Lord Bishop of Ossory and brother of the Countess of Kilkenny), John Perceval Lord Lovel and Holland (Earl of Egmont in Ireland), and Richard Le Poer Trench Earl of Clancarty, Viscount Dunlo (Garbally House, Galway).
