How Much Can We Boost IQ and Scholastic Achievement?

(Berkeley): Self Published, 1969. First printing. Paperback. 8vo, wraps, good with some red ink underlining throughout -- from the collection of Penn State sociologist-anthropologist George Theodoros and undoubtedly his marks. Jensen's controversial work that posited that Black IQs were lower because of genetic factors; it was first published in the Harvard Educational Review in 1969 and its impact was immediate -- protests, picketing, defenses, symposia, tire-slashing and threats of violence. Harvard refused for a while to give Jensen offprints of his own article and he was obligated to self publish it for those who wanted to read about it, although OCLC/Worldcat citations imply this 123 pp. book was published by Harvard (we disagree). Theodorson reviewed some of Jensen's later books for at least one sociological journal. Good. Item #H20963
