With Grief Acquainted, inscribed by Fred Rogers to his friend and collaborator Barry Head

Chicago: Follett Publishing Company, 1964. First printing. Hardcover. Quarto, cloth in dust jacket, good to very good, the red endpapers must have gotten a little damp at some point because they've bled to the bottom edge of the dust jacket flaps and bottom edge of the first and last few pages, not dramatically. Inscribed to Barry (Head) by Fred Rogers in 1976, "For Barry, who, like these three other professionals, is acquainted with the full range of feelings. From one who is very proud of who you are and what you do. Fred Rogers." The book is about three photographers documenting life in the South Side of Chicago, deemed a "ghetto" back then. Barry Head, also known as Edward Nugent-Head (1937-2016) was a writer and humanitarian who collaborated with Rogers on three books on parenting: Mister Rogers' How Families Grow (1986), Mr. Rogers' Playbook (1986), and Mr. Rogers Talks With Parents (1983). A fine inscription from one of Pittsburgh's most iconic and beloved figures. Good / good. Item #H21735
