London: Chapman and Hall, 1837. First printing. Hardcover. First edition, 1837, 12mo, rebound in full calf by Matthews, then respined at a somewhat later date, 80 pp, contents very good. Often attributed to Dickens, this was finally established as being the work of Anglican hymnologist Edward Caswall, and in fact Dickens authored a rebuttal called Sketches of Young Gentlemen the year after. Light rubbing to corners, hinges a bit stiff, a very good copy. Very Good. Item #H2284
