1927 postcard from Voznesensk, now Ivanovo-Voznesenskiy with interesting message on verso
Moscow: 1927. Postcard of the busy mercantile center of Voznesensk, now Ivanovo-Voznesenskiy, NE of Moscow. With message on the back, "Dear mother, this is a small city, the textile center of Russia, but unfortunately most of the plants are closed on for repairs and vacations. This is an expanding city with two huge new spinning factors under construction. So we had the construction industry for one day. That evening they took us out to the rest home where we were royally received and came to be taken into the spirit of the group marvelously. The spirit of emancipation [?] among the older women was the most remarkable thing." Very Good. Item #H23171
