Published 1889, 2 large 8vo volumes, 1/2 leather, watered silk cloth boards, very good with light wear and loss to corners, some darkening to spine & corner leather, contents very good, no. 569 of 870 copies, with the twenty-five illustrations in duplicate, one on plate paper, proofs before letters, and the other on Whatman paper, with titles and colored by hand. In other words, each plate appears twice, one in black and white and one colored by hand. Contents very good. 351 / 343 pp, illustrated. RARE. The author was an unsuccessful parliamentarian but was remarkably handsome, impeccably dressed, and was counted a dandy by his peers and friends. Very Good. Item #H2416
