Inscribed by Jean Silvain, the son of Eugene Silvain, the subject of this biography, to his sister Jeanne and her husband, the actor Edmond Roze, very fondly. Printed on the colophon page is, 'Exemplaire Imprimé spécialement pour Madame Jeanne Roze Silvain.' Handsomely bound, with wraps bound in, in full deerskin binding with arts and crafts embossed design. Very good with light wear to binding, contents excellent. As good an association copy as one could hope for. Eugene Silvain (1851-1930) was a major French actor and one of the directors of the Comedie Francaise; his son and daughter were also in the theatre. Very Good. Item #H2460
