1774-1779 invoice from John Amiel Jr., NYC, to Samuel Harman for groceries, etc., paid in full in 1783 and signed by Amiel, a New York City merchant and loyalist

New York: 1774-1783. Single sheet, 12 x 8 inches, laid paper, bill from John Amiel, Jun., made out to Samuel Harman, for purchases from November 16 1774 to Dec. 22 1779, some additional charges from 1775, paid in full in 1783. Products include rice, raisins, mustard, pepper, Scotch Barley, tea, oatmeal, coffee, Porter, "Souchong" tea, as well as 16 shillings for a week's lodging. Light wear to top edge with neat repairs of some short tears using pH-neutral document tissue, looks like some words are cut off at the bottom edge. Amiel, a merchant in New York City, signed an open letter to General Howe in 1776 as a Loyalist. That's all we have found out about him. We have found out even less about Samuel Harman, although a gentleman of that name lived in Orange County, NY at the time, which might explain why he needed to secure lodging in the city. Good.
