Hardcover. 8vo, publisher's blocked light brown cloth, very good, general light wear and soil to covers, spine darkened, with small printed paper spine title label darkened and with corner loss, contents very good but with foxing throughout, some corner loss to rear flyleaf, light musty odor: we found this in the basement of an old farmhouse, private library bookplate of George Wittmer (b. 1830, prominent farmer and developer in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh). 292 pp, no ads, inserted leaf of publisher's preface to the second edition. Both the first and second editions are very scarce. Anti-Catholic captivity narrative. Very good. Item #H26105
