Collection of hundreds of cartoons and original sketches, some in color, 1930s-1950s

(York, PA): 1930s-1950s. A big stack of original cartoons, drawings, etc., probably over 250 sheets: a testament to Mr. Frick's breadth, charm, humor and artistic abilities. Frick's cartoons appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Collier's, Christian Science Monitor, Argosy, and many other national periodicals. Frick (1918-2007), grew up in York PA. A graduate of YCI, he then studied at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Chicago. Upon graduation, he worked many years in New York City as a free-lance cartoonist. Later he returned to York where he taught art at Votech for 18 years. A devout Christian, he began missionary work late in life in El Salvador. Many of the sheets have his NYC address on their versos, but some have his York address. Very good. Item #H26376
