Quarto, 12 x 9.5 inches, publisher's dark green cloth gilt titled on front cover, very good, light wear, rubbing and small stains to binding and some bubbling/rippling to fabric on front cover, not horribly so; contents very good and clean, old owner's name on flyleaf probably from near the time this was published: John R. Wilson of Washington PA. xxii, 51 (1) pp, pages mainly uncut and unopened along top edge, 14 plates, collated complete, 12 of which are lithographs, the majority printed in a sepia-browntone, 2 copperplates, one of which is double-page. Very rare in the trade, the last copy of the 1834 edition at auction was Swann, 1996, $373 including buyer's premium, rebacked; and before that, 1990 where a copy described as ex-library and soiled fetched 264 Pounds at Sotheby's (also including buyer's premium). A rebacked copy with library stamps on each plate of the 1833 edition sold at Winter in 2012 for over $900 Pounds. Very good. Item #H26379
