Tancred, Prince of Tiberias, a Tale of the Eleventh Century

Translated from the French, but original authors not given. Possibly written by the father-son novelists who published under the pseudonym Gabriel Ferry; the elder's real name was Eugène Louis Gabriel Ferry de Bellemare: they wrote a novel based on the life of Tancrede. Tancred was an Italo-Norman leader of the First Crusade who later became Prince of Galilee and regent of the Principality of Antioch. Tancred came from the house of Hauteville and was the great-grandson of Norman lord Tancred of Hauteville. Uncommon in the trade and only a few copies in libraries. Very good. Item #H27376
