Small quarto, 10 x 8.25 inches, contemporary full brown leather, gilt spine, red title label, good copy, general wear and rubbing to binding, front board shows restoration at the outer joint and inner hinge, minor wear to boards, dryness and loss along spine, contents good to very good, frontispiece quite foxed, as are the engraved plates; all plates complete: frontispiece, 3 folding maps and charts, 5 botanical plates or views, two of which are folding, two engraved pages of music: the first map has been trimmed along its top edge down to the engraved border and has some small brown stains, the other maps are in very good condition, the copperplate views tend to be somewhat foxed, and the plate facing p. 252 has two small ink stains, but the text pages are bright and mainly free of foxing.
