The Budget of the District of Columbia, 1976 -- Paul O'Neill's copy

Washington DC: District of Columbia, 1976. First Printing. Hardcover. 11.25 x 8.5 inches, green cloth gilt, very good, "Mr. O'Neill" on a relief lettered plastic label on front. 65 pp. From the estate of Paul O'Neill. The Office of Budget and Management (OMB), part of the government's executive office, was reorganized and renamed under Nixon in 1970 and Paul O'Neill was the Assistant Director and/or Deputy Director under Nixon, Ford and through part of Carter's administration including 1976. After becoming Chair of Alcoa for some years, he returned to the public sector when he became George W. Bush's first Secretary of the Treasury until he was fired for insubordination midway through his second year. This 1976 book would have been given to him when he was very involved in the compilation of such budgets. Very good. Item #H28562
