NP: The Cornelius Printing Company, et al. 1942-1944. Hardcover. Bound volume from the library of Nicholas Unkovic ((1906-1983, a prominent labor law attorney with Reed, Smith in Pittsburgh), who worked on this case on behalf of the steel companies. 8vo, in tan law buckram with leather labels in red and black. With laid in "Directive Orders and Opinions of the National War Labor Board in the 'Little Steel' Case." (61 pp, wraps). The four steel companies, deemed "Little Steel" because they were not the largest companies, still employed 175,000 workers and had significant clout plus the firm backing of Philip Murray and the USWA; the demands were for $1/day increase in wages and "union security" measures. This book consists of "Brief Submitted by the USWA to Panel of NWLB" -- Unkovic's working copy with several pages heavily annotated and marked, "Brief Submitted for the Steel Workers Organizing Committee," the SWOC's Statement of Facts and Briefs (346 pp, some written by Philip Murray) and a second copy of pp. 139-346 pp of that book, which is the bulk of Murray's "Reply." Very good. Item #H28807
