1949 signed letter to Thomas Bruni, an educator in Allentown PA

Rutherford NJ: 1949. In original mailing envelope. On single sheet of plain paper, now a little tanned. Signed with a very thick pencil. Dated March 1, 1949, the letter reads, "Dear Bruni, Thanks for taking up the cudgels for me in your letter to the New York Herald Tribune. You are quite right, their article was self contradictory and confusing. As I expect neither veracity nor intelligence from daily press however, I am little affected by what is said there. Not that I'm indifferent to it, how can one be? but expecting nothing I am seldom disappointed. It's a tough thing to know what one's reactions are to publicity. It's not hard, though, to know what one's reactions are to the thoughtfulness and kindness of a friend. Thank you very much. Sincerely, W. C. Williams." Very good. Item #H28819
