Inscribed in 1988 to Ruth Wagner of Durham, NC: "Dear Ruth, thank you for all your generous hospitality over the years we've come to Durham, always a pleasure to be with you; with affection, Merce Cunningham, VII/22/1988." With two letters from Dianne Williams Cabot, the company manager of the domestic tours, first from 1982 thanking Wagner for her hospitality in hosting a reception, etc., and another letter from 1984 thanking her for another reception. There is a separate letter from Cunningham from 1984, also thanking her: "Dear Ruth Wagner, Just to thank you for the grand party! It was a pleasure to be in your house, and 'see' [?] again. Our Los Angeles trip was quick and fine, and fortunately we have a break of several weeks before the 'Fall' activity begins. My best wishes to you. Sincerely, Merce Cunningham." Very good.
