"Nettie" as she was known was born in Scenery Hill, the only daughter of Byron and Lucy Clark. She attended Washington Female Seminary and enrolled in 1881 in Beaver College, aspiring to get a music degree. She died at the age of 20 of malignant erysipelas, superinducing acute meningitis. 71 pp. Book has a brief biography of her plus many letters from friends, teachers, family and community leaders.
