68 offprints of mathematical articles, 1956-1967

Wraps. 68 separate offprints, all in wraps, very good, occasional light wear. From the collection of Juan Jorge Schäffer, math professor at CMU. Each one has a small pencil annotation in upper right corner. Browder (1927-2016) was an American mathematician known for his work in nonlinear functional analysis. He received the National Medal of Science in 1999 and was President of the American Mathematical Society until 2000. His father was the famous communist Earl Browder. In no particular order, we have: On a Theorem of Buerling and Livingston (1965); On Continuity of Fixed Points under Deformations of Continuous Mappings (1960); On Non-Linear Wave Equations (1962); Non-Local Elliptic Boundary Value Problems (1964); Nonlinear Operators in Banach Spaces (1966); Non-linear Equations of Evolution (1964); Non-linear Initial Value Problems (1965); On the Unification of the Calculus of Variations and the Theory of Monotone Nonlinear Operators in Banach Spaces (1966); Boundary Value Problems I (1966?); Principal Functions for Elliptic Systems of Differential Equations (1965); Real Analytic Functions on Product Spaces and Separate Analyticity (1961); Nonlinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problems II (1965); Nonlinear Parabolic Boundary Value Problems of Arbitrary Order (1963); Nonlinear Elliptic Problems II (1964); Nonlinear Monotone Operators and Convex Sets in Banach Spaces (1965); Nonlinear Elliptic Functional Equations in Nonreflexive Banach Spaces (1966); On the Spectral Theory of Strongly Elliptic Differential Operators (1959); On the Edge of the Wedge" Theorem (1963); On the Iteration of Transformations in Noncompact Minimal Dynamical Systems (1958); On the Fixed Point Index for Continuous Mappings of Locally Connected Spaces (1960); On the Proof of Mergelyan's Approximation Theorem (1960); On the spectral theory of elliptic differential operators, I (1961); The Solvability of Non-Linear Functional Equations (1963); Topological Methods for Non-Linear Elliptic Equations of Arbitrary Order (1966); Variational Boundary Value Problems for Quasi-Linear Elliptic Equations, II (1963); Variational Boundary Value Problems for Quasi-Linear Elliptic Equations of Arbitary Order (1963); Variational Boundary Value Problems for Quasi-Linear Elliptic Equations, III (1963); Variational Methods for Non-Linear Elliptic Eigenvalue Problems (1965); Strongly Non-Linear Parabolic Boundary Value Problems (1964); Nonlinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problems (1963); Nonlinear Accretive Operators in Banach Spaces (1967); Multivalued Monotone Nonlinear Mappings and Duality Mappings in Banach Space (1965); Nonexpansive Nonlinear Operators in a Banach Space (1965); Mapping Theorems for Noncompact Nonlinear Operators in Banach Spaces (1965); Lusternik-Schnirelman Category and Nonlinear Elliptic Eigenvalue Problems (1965); Strongly Elliptic Systems of Differential Equations (ND); Remarks on the Direct Method of the Calculus of Variations (1965); Remarks on Nonlinear Functional Equations, I-III (1964-5); Regularity Theorems for Solutions of Partial Differential Equations with Variable Coefficients (1957); Further Remarks on Nonlinear Functional Equations (1966); Fixed Point Theorems on Infinite Dimensional Manifolds (1965); Fixed Point Theorems for Nonlinear Semicontractive Mappings in Banach Spaces (1966); Fixed-Point Theorems for Noncompact Mappings in Hilbert Space (1965); Families of Linear Operators Depending upon a Parameter (1965) Existence of Periodic Solutions for Nonlinear Equations of Evolution (1965); Existence and Uniqueness Theorems for Solutions of Nonlinear Boundary Value Problems (1965); Existence and Perturbation Theorems for Nonlinear Maximal Monotone Operators in Banach Spaces (1967); Existence and Approximation of Solutions of Nonlinear Variational Inequalities (1966); Estimates and Existence Theorems for Elliptic Boundary Value Problems (1959); Eigenfunction Expansions with Boundary Conditions (1965); Eigenfunction Expansions for Non-Symmetric Partial Differential Operators, III (1959); Eigenfunction Expansions for Formally Self Adjoint Partial Differential Operators, II (1956); Convergence of Approximants to Fixed Points of Nonexpansive Nonlinear Mappings in Banach Spaces (1967); Commutators with Powers of an Unbounded Operator in Hilbert Space (1965); Construction of Fixed Points of Nonlinear Mappings in Hilbert Space (1967, with W.
