First printing of this translation, 1919, wraps, very good, unopened, with an inscription by Silvain and his colleague Jaubert (hard to read the name of the recipient); probably inscribed in advance of the performance, only the anticipated recipient was a no-show, as this was found in the estate of Silvain's daughter, Jeanne. 58 pp., light wear, very good. Silvain was a well known actor and dramatic author, Doyen of the Comedie-Francaise; Jaubert was a gifted poet, dramatic author and translator (known for his translations of Gogol and Chekhov) - previously Jaubert and Silvain collaborated on a translation of Euripides.
