Signed 1919 agreement between Rinehart, Rex Beach and Samuel Goldwyn
New York: Stern and Reubens, 1919. 20 pp. agreement, mainly a carbon copy but with the actual signatures of Rinehart, Goldwyn and Beach plus the initials of Goldwyn and Beach next to a handwritten emendation. Some tanning and edgewear but generally very good. Agreement gives Goldwyn, as producer, exclusive right to any of Rinehart's literary works, with a guaranteed $15,000 a year plus 33 1/3% of all royalties and profits from the films. We're not sure what Beach is on the contract for, since he was not a collaborator of hers -- possibly as Goldwyn's screenwriter. A lot of legalese in here but clearly very generous terms to Rinehart! Very good. Item #H30499
